“The pen is mightier than the sword, for it has the power to shape minds and inspire a brighter future.”
On 21st July 2026, Holy Cross Academy, Kurla successfully conducted its Inter-House Essay Competition, encouraging students to reflect on the values of responsible citizenship and patriotism through thoughtful writing. Students of Grades V–VII explored the theme “Civil Responsibility as a Service to India,” while students of Grades VIII–IX wrote on “A Country is Only as Strong as Its Common Citizens” or “The Need to Sacrifice for One’s Country.”
The competition showcased the creativity, critical thinking, and eloquence of our young writers as they expressed meaningful ideas on civic responsibility, unity, sacrifice, and nation-building. Their essays reflected not only a deep understanding of these values but also a sincere commitment to contributing positively to society.
At Holy Cross Academy, Kurla, we believe that empowering students to think, write, and reflect on issues of national importance helps shape informed, compassionate, and responsible citizens. Through such opportunities, we continue to inspire young minds to use their voices to contribute towards the betterment of the country.
