Holy Cross Academy, Kurla, organised an engaging Guest Talk for the students of Grades V to X on 16th July 2026 as part of its Life Changer Series. The session, titled “Your Brain on Games,” was conducted by Dr. Manasi Amdekar, Counselling Psychologist, Voice Artist, and Social Impact Advocate. The objective of the session was to help students understand the impact of gaming on the brain while promoting healthy and responsible digital habits.
Through interactive discussions, real-life examples, quizzes, and activities, Dr. Amdekar explained how gaming can enhance focus, memory, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and mood when enjoyed in moderation. She also emphasised the importance of balancing screen time with academics, physical activity, and family interactions. Students participated enthusiastically, sharing their experiences and asking insightful questions throughout the session.
The informative and inspiring session concluded with a message encouraging students to use technology wisely and make mindful choices in today’s digital world. Principal Ms. Arlene Gomes expressed her gratitude to Dr. Manasi Amdekar for her valuable insights and thanked the school management for supporting initiatives that contribute to the holistic development of students.
